On my 1966 110 how does the idler for the secondary drive belt hook to the clutch/brake pedal? Thanks in advance.

This belt goes to varirator sheave and variable speed control lever, by depressing the clutch-brake pedal the brake band is tightened and variator sheave is moved foward causing primary belt to loosen,hope this helps.

Thanks, but I was wondering what connects the idler, that tightens the belt, to the clutch brake pedal. let me know if I'm not clear enough.

To the original post;

On my 1966 110 how does the idler for the secondary drive belt hook to the clutch/brake pedal? Thanks in advance.

If you are talking about the same idler/tensioner I am thinking then it does NOT connect to the clutch/brake/variator.

Since your link did not work can you please clarify? Are you talking about the large pulley that rides on top of the secondary drive belt that runs from the variator back to the transaxle? The part I am talking about is #13 in the pic below. The spring to tension on the belt is #6.

If not then here is the image for the variator:

If this is what you are looking for I can get pics of my '66 later or check the FSM and possibly scan it for you. If it is not in these images then I will post up a few more from JDparts.com.

I'm talking about the idler that rides on top of the secondary belt.Do you know where it hooks up? I fiddled with it today and I think I have it right but it would be nice to be sure.

That would be #13 in the first pic. I will crawl under my '66 tomorrow and check it out for you. Hope to get a pic while I am at it.
