Hi! I looked here, but didn't see anything about this exact question. If there's a post someone can point me to, I'd appreciate it. I have a square fender 112, and there is an 18 HP Kohler magnum twin for sale locally for cheap. The engine for sale has the electric clutch already on it. Is it possible to repower my 112 with that engine? I can modify if I need to, I'd just like to know if it will work without getting too crazy with mods.
Thanks!
Welcome Speedy. I know I have seen 140s re powered with Vanguard twins but I'm not sure about a 112 and a Kohler magnum. If you wait a bit there are others here who have more experience with 112's.
I have read of a 200 series with a Vanguard repower but it is expensive. The repower options on the belt drive tractors are limited. What flavor of 112 do you have - kohler or tecumseh engine???
Id go with the original 12hp kohler. Plenty of power for most tasks and youd be keeping your tractor original. Just my 0.02
