Does anyone have a source or know of where a new or good used "pup tent" style dump trailer cover can be made or purchased from? Mine just blew out big time and I have almost three wooded acres of leaves about to fall.
Thanks,
Joe

I made a sail for a boat my son and I built. If you have the old one for a pattern and a sewing machine, go for it. Or else any one around you doing alterations or maybe a canvas shop could come to the rescue. Just ramblings. Been a crazy day.

Simplicity quit making the darn things quite some time ago. I had one made using the original Simplicity one as a pattern almost 20 years ago at an awning shop but that guy is long out of business. Where it ripped is where I have rubbed up against trees on the sides. I was picking up grass clippings and it just blew out.
None of the awning shops seem to make anything anymore. They take measurements and send for them.
Boat cover canvas won't work because it doesn't breath enough.
Anyways, thanks for the welcome and the suggestions. I'll have to keep on searching.

Thanks,
griff

I purchased a mesh tarp from Harbor Freight a couple years ago to use as a sun shade, I was surprised how heavy the material was. They still make them, maybe that would breathe enough for the top? They have different sizes, this is the one I picked out:

10 Ft. x 12 Ft. Mesh Tarp

I have one of these units. The previous owner fabricated a new cover using screen wire (metal). He used wire to attach both sides, the front and top to the metal frame of the dump trailer. The back is completely removable. It is simple and something anyone could easily duplicate. Have no pictures, but might be able to get one or two in the next two or three days if you are interested.
