This 1989 316 has been on CL for weeks now, each time it got relisted the price dropped, therefore tempting me more. But I have a 140H1 project that I have been trying to stay focus on. Saturday, September 17, comes and this 316 is listed again - this time tempting me beyond reason. I told my wife, I have to buy this. She, to my surprise, said "Go get it". I had the trailer hooked to the little Ranger before she could change her mind.

It has a funky, 20 footer paint job, funky head lights and tail lights that work. It runs great, with a strong hydro which has a little leak to the hydraulic units, but it's not bad enough to worry about - yet. No attachments, but I might try and see about building a 3 point hitch for it, unless I stumble across one - cheap.

Has H2 conversion, funky paint job, head lights and tail lights.

Congrats on the John Deere 316 Terry. Looks to be in good shape, the paint job isn't too bad and at least it will help keep it from rusting until you get to redo it. A 3pt would look great behind it.

Congrats Terry. Well that paint job is sort of out there but easily fixed. H2 hydraulics is a big bonus.

Thanks, guys. It runs really good, I wish I had the deck for it. But if I can find a snow blade or a 3 point hitch, it will get used in those capacities instead of mowing. The paint job may stay on it for a while, who knows.

I have been wanting a 318, so with the H2 conversion all I'm missing now is power steering and turning brakes.

Nice looking Deere, had to laugh at the "20 Foot" paintjob statement... I refer to that as the "Far Away" look. :)

Some of those pictures look closer than 20 ft away...and it looks good to me! Nice score TMO! Hydraulics is always a plus...Best of luck with whatever you plan to do with it! I kinda like the look of those headlights on there, as long as I don't have to stare at them coming towards me on the highway LOL!

Like most OE headlights, they are useless. But now you have an actual usable headlight system! I think the black striping is funky, but as said, if it doesn't suit you, that can be changed when time allows. Nice looking ride, and glad your wife supports your addiction!

Great idea on the headlights. Think I'll fab something up for my 400 which is missing the lens anyway (and we all know how much they cost!). Feel dumb for asking this question.... but what is everyone refering to when they say H2 conversion? thanks
