I'm going to change the fluid and filter on the 127.

I can get Shell Tellus 32 Hydraulic Oil from work for next to nothing.
Would it be ok to run it in the Cubs Hydro tranny?

It's the darn near the same Viscosity as the Hytran and I can get 5 Gallon for $20.

As long as it meets or exceeds the IH B-6 specifications, it should be fine.

Eric I would do a google search for hydraulic oil cross reference and see if that oil falls within the specs of IH B-6 .

I did some digging and found a couple charts with Viscosity for the Hytran and the numbers look compatible.

It calls for Shell Tellus 32 in the log splitters manual. The JLG Lifts at work use the stuff.

I'm going to try it.If nothing else I'll be out $20 for the fluid and $6 for the filter.

The local TSC has Hytran but it's $74 for 5 gallon.Seems a bit high for hydro fluid.

Eric try a local Napa if all else fails. They have hydro fluid compatible with IH B-6 specs for about 13 a gallon. There filters are made by WIX which are top of the line filters.

TSC's general branded Traveller Hydraulic Fluid is compatible with Hytran's standard and is about $20 for 2.5 gallons I think.

I stand corrected TSC online says 18.99 for 2 gallons or 41.99 for 5 gallons. Here's the link:
