Well,I a few minutes this morning to put a battery in it and get it running. It actually runs pretty good, although I think the carb is going to need a kit as there is a little gas running through it when it is shut off.The clutch was stuck,so I freed that up and was then able to take it for a short run around the yard.I can't get get over the condition of the deck,it is almost mint except for scratches in the paint and it's faded really bad.Shifter is pretty loose too.

Great to hear you got it running!

I hope your 1053 turns into a very good project. The tractor that George restored was quite rough when we first got it. I just wish that we had more pictures when it first came home , to show how much work and time he put into the final tractor that you see in the pictures that he has now posted.

well when its restored, and nice and shiney you can look back at the old pics and feel great about yourself for saving a rough tractor from the parts or scrap bin and making it new again. Good luck! OH YEA WE WANT PICS!!(sorry, peer pressure, everyone else is doin it!).

Yes peer pressure and it is a requirement to post pics, it is in the fine print that you all agree too LOL. Plus what better time to get that new digital camera out of the packaging Maynard? :bigrofl:
