I recently acquired a 1971 John Deere 110. It has a leaking gas line, and an oil leak, but seems mechanically sound otherwise. I tested it out on a small patch of grass, and noticed that when I hit small bumps, the lever would pop out of the notch, and the mower would disengage. Is this something that just needs adjusting. The only manual I found was for the round fender model, and I have the square fender, so I have not been able to find a manual. Any help would be appreciated, as it's a bit clumsy to drive and hold the lever in place :-)

Welcome to GTTalk kasperd. I bet that you have a broken spring. It is located under the battery tray and is to hold tension on the pto lever. You will have to pull the battery and tray to get to it.
Good luck,
