I am trying to get the shroud for an old Briggs and Stratton 8hp., but can't id the engine because thats were they stamp the model etc. :confuse: Why did they not rivet a plate on or something easy like that.

I think that the mower is a 70's era and I think that the B&S model would be 191707
I downloaded the parts list for that motor from b&s the shield cylinder is not as shown (bolt is on the underside not at the top). cant find a picture of 224543 to compare.

They call the top shroud a Housing Blower . The engine has electric start and a recoil start with a long cord as well withe the parts that are remaining. Anybody got a mower lick this so that they could tell me what the Briggs numbers are that i need to get parts. or does anyone have the old parts.

I looked at my collection of engines and there is a difference in blower housing, need to know if the electric start has a metal gear or plastic,,

 Bcer1825 Welcome to GTTalk! It kinda looks like an older MTD to me, Similar to the Wizard also if memory serves. I'm not the expert that you're seeking though. I just wanted to say hello and to suggest that you hop on over to the Member Introductions forum and tell us a little more about yourself and your hobby. You're sure to get more welcomes there. Thanks for the pics and thanks for signing up!
