I have a 1950 Bolens Power Ho Deluxe with a Briggs 8R6 engine. My question is where are the breaker points located on the older Briggs motors. I have rebuilt 60's and 70's Briggs', and i know they were located behind a cover under the flywheel, so is that where they are located on the 8R6? This is my first Bolens Walkbehind, ive had. I hope to get a Ridemaster soon, or a Ride a Matic tractor. Thanks.

Here is the manuals for the Series 8 engines, including the 8R6.

On page 12, it shows the points behind the flywheel. Hope that helps, and post a pic of your Power Ho, we love pics.

As posted, behind the flywheel, under a cover. Very easy to get to. Make sure you use a new flywheel key on reassembly. The Model 8 engines use a soft key, so reuse is dangerous.
