Doug, I hope you can get everything you need to make your EGT200 the best it can be.

I'm trying now to match up the paint on this tractor, the white is not a problem.
The Bittersweet orange from what I can find out is not the same colour as what they had when they made these tractors.
The off white is called buff but that's about all I know about it.
I got 2 good samples of both colours, Buff on the inside of the hood, Bittersweet on the inside of the access panel under the steering wheel.
Anybody got any ideas?

Polish up a good spot on that painted plate & take it to an automotive paint shop. They have a digital reader that takes a "snapshot" of the actual paint & gives them the mixing criteria for a perfect match.

Thanks Daniel I guess that's the way to go.

Add another hard to get part to the list.

The Implement mounting bracket that I have is not going to work on my tractor, it's for the front mount tractors and if you try to put it on a mid mount large frame like mine it hits the front axle.
So somehow I got to get me the right one.

Got some more parts today, decals and the 1 mower mount arm that I was missing.
Ordered some paint at the Massey AGCO dealer. I saw 2 paint samples there Buff and Bittersweet orange, I didn't have my samples with me but the colours look good. I'm not sure if the Bittersweet is a 100% match but I think it's close enough.
Got a line on a sleeve hitch and maybe the manual lift that goes with it, fingers crossed.
Hoping I can switch the front bracket for the right one soon, AP55 the one I need, for my AP56 the one I got.
Slowly but surly it's coming together.

Which leaves the DERRICK BRACKET for the NI tractors still to get, anybody got one of these to sell?

I tell ya finding parts and attachments for these electric tractors is a job, when I need something for the Massey GTs it's a lot easier, if you can't find the piece your looking I just buy a parts tractor. Since I bought this EGT200 I have not seen another New Idea or GE listed for sale within driving distance.

Doug, glad you are making some headway on your EGT200. I haven't touched my E20 in months, and would like to get working on it soon, have yet to mount up the tires I bought for it this past spring, and I even have everything I need!

This hobby is tough on me, I am trying to reduce my tractors down to a more manageable number just so I can afford to fix the ones I like the most (which are still broken!!).

Picked up the paint today, this is what I got from the Massey ARCO dealer
The Bittersweet Orange is not a perfect match but close enough for me.

Doug, I think that will be perfect. One thing we often forget about 20+ year old paint is that it has seen the sun, and therefore has faded from the original shade.

From what I've been able to find out there were 3168 New Idea tractors made in total for all models>My Elec-Traks - New Idea

Serial numbers that I have found for EGT200s are>
4099 - mine
4200 - friends that I saw
4234 -

Is it possible that EGT200 serial#s started at 4000?
Does any body know of other EGT200 serial#s?
Does anybody know how many tractors were made for each model?

Doug , I talked to a plant engineer who stated that tags were made ahead of time under the GE models and probably the NI units built by GE . The tags were installed after passage of QC testing . His memory was not absolute but good . The upshot is that tags may have been made but not used. The people I have talked to have been gracious but there is a limit . Fred

There is supposed to be a list of completed and released Ge units if it is found and put on record. No idea about the New Idea units if that documentation exists. No idea who was the keeper of this data . Maybe Mr Beckett's book will help , save your pennies !!!

Thanks Sparky I find it really difficult to find out certain info on these tractors.

Question
How much is the Tiller with Electric Lift complete and in working condition worth?

Doug, I think the real question is... how bad do you want it?

...I would say at least 500 bucks though, unless you can get it for less.

Hope you can get it.

They seem to go for a good buck, the one I'm looking at fellow wants $500 for it, tiller and lift.

Doug, I would say that it is worth it, but I like paying up for stuff I know is rare. Hard to say when the next one will show up.. and for how much..

I didn't get the tiller, I was too slow to respond again, the fellow who had it for sale said he could of sold 1/2 a dozen of them.

Today I got the proper front implement mounting bracket, it's a copy of an original and it seems to fit, I think this ones going to work.
1 problem is that the bends on the 2 tabs are in the wrong spot, need to be re-bent 2" to the rear, easy fix.
Bottom line is that I got 1 more needed part to make this a good working tractor.
