Kind of looks like an older Ride-A-Matic but something seems different with the grill. I am not the Bolens expert LOL.

It appears similar to a 1959 (model 230) or 1960 (models 231 or 232) Bolens Ride-A-Matic, but the hood & grille are definitely NOT Bolens.

The picture in the CL ad is too small to see details.

It may have been branded as a Wizard tractor, but I don't know much about them. .....Steve Johnson (in Oregon) is knowledgable about the Wizards, and he is a member here.

I'm not an expert, but have looked at a lot of ride-a-matic pictures to see what I have.
Agree on the date - 1959/60.

The hood might be original/modified - see the pics in the following post:
http://gardentractor...-tractors-3591/
The front-edge appears to have been squared off.
I would expect it to have a K161 - 7HP Kohler motor.
The rear wheels are not original.

The grill however, should be cast iron and really heavy. Curious to know what is written on it.
Could this be a home-made replacement or did a company try to re-brand?
Ride-a-matics were also sold as Wizards.

The handle for the verse-a-matic drive is there - peaking over the hood. If all the pieces are there and it runs and moves, could be a worthwhile purchase - just ride around on or for parts.

I went and looked at it this afternoon, owner said it runs and and goes in all gears, everything sees to be original on it exceptgas tank, and front grille and top, said he would take 175.00 for it,going to wait a liitle and offer him less,as he stated if he doesnt sell it he was taking it to the scrap yard he was tired of mowing around it,i think it would be difficult to find the parts to make it original,i took some pictures but can not find my cord to transfer from my camera, just finished moving and have not located the right box that it was packed in
