so yesterday i put hygard in my sundstrand 15 tranny after 10 quarts of ATF got drained, and wow. the performance from hygard is great, my tranny and hydros are stronger, more responsive and quieter. so far so great with hygard, 46 bucks for 3 gallons, not bad since supertech fluid is about 30. so i havent gotten around to putting the plow back on and plowing some dirt with the hygard in her, but i have a feeling it will be a smoother process.

The thicker viscosity always improves an older hydro with some wear. On mine that do HD work, I always use motor oil. Gives the same results as you have found with Hygard.

I'm glad to here you got it sorted out. Fresh fluid and filter is always a good investment for a hydrostatic drive.
