Very, very nice. I still miss mine... Someday I'll find one when the coffers can handle it.

Ok, I'm missing something here. "He was going to fix it up"????
What, where???? That is in great shape, and looks great. Congrats on your find.

Thanks guys,
Yes I "fixed it up". Tractor had been neglected when I found it. Everything was there execpt the battery cover. I fabbed that and disassembled the tractor and did the restore. Tractor runs great.
The paint is Old Caterpillar Yellow. Not the original color, but I think it looks pretty good.

I am restoring an 8e, and would love to get some reproduction decals. I was wondering if the gentleman who had them made would consider selling me a set? Serial number on mine is 06185. As soon as i figure out how to post pictures i will.. haha

Hi.
:welcometogttalk:
Nice to hear that another MF8E is being brought back to life.
Yep, you're right. We like to see pictures.
Once you post them, I'll give you the email address to my friend Andy, who does the decals. :smilewink:
Oh heck, I can't do that. Andy is at andy@balickisigns.com

Oh yeah, :wewantpics:

Check out the how to forum, for info, on posting pics.
Do you know Doug Brohman?

Thanks for the info, I have posted the pics to the massey sub category. The tractor is tore down for sandblast now, I was just waiting for a line on decals and didn't want to destroy what i had left of the originals.. I have gathered all NOS parts including Cole Hersee key and light switch, as well as a GEN light. Rebuilt starter/gen and new voltage regulator.. wheels are sand blasted and painted white.

I have some original brochures for the mf8e and all its attachments that I have not seen on here. I'd be more than happy to scan them and post them to the appropriate category. I wish i had a mower deck.. anybody in Ontario know where I can find one? Also missing the right hand belt guard near right foot. :mecry:

Check out the fifteen hundred MTD I acquired last week too.. Mowed an acre with it yesterday and I could'nt be happier..

I had a nice visit today with member "Motobreeder", and his son Ian.
They were on a road trip/treasure hunt, and delivered to me a MF tiller that they'd been
holding for me since April. I had a treasure stored here, that belonged to them, so, we
finally got our act together, and made the swap.

It was nice to finally meet Dwayne in person, and we had a good chat about GTs, but
enough about that.

Here's what I'm excited about. Another part of the MF Executive collection.

No' that's not an Elf. That's the previous owner.(I think)
I just wanted to hide his identity, for his sake.

Being the tiller is part of the Executive collection, I'll post a link to the tiller resto thread.

Will, I fired up the Executive today. Wanted to do some cleaning and P.M.  The wife was in the shop and I mentioned how her efforts to filter the exhaust were inadequate.  She gave me "THE LOOK" and exhausted herself back to the house. I wonder where I'm taking her for dinner?  :ah_shoot:

I installed a "pinch finger" on the idler pulley. The belt wasn't slipping enough to let me change gears unless the rpm's were very low.

After I do a couple test runs I'll paint the piece and clean the tractor and put her back into hibernation.  Rick

LOL. Yes, I'd say you have a dinner date soon.

I had the same issue on mine. The OE pinch finger is a flat bar, on the back side of the idler.

Very finicky to get it set just right. What you did there looks like a better setup. Less wear

on the belt, with the round stock. I hope the test goes good.
