Hi Executive folks. I was re-arranging some stuff out in a shed yesterday and tonight and ran across this gas tank with some yellow overspray on it. Can any of you identify this as possibly the original one from my MF8E? Also I think the head from the long-gone Kohler may be in the wooden box in the 4th pic.

Thanks in advance----DAC

I don't have a picture of my MF8E tank, but in this pre resto picture, you can

see where it mounts and rests on the backside of the dash. I say, yes that's

a MF8E tank.

That should be the same for the  motomower? Mine has a plastic tank. I'm interested in it if it fits my tractor. I have to dig out the tractor and verify that mine has those holes.  Tom

Thank-you Will! I had it pictured in my mind mounted to the original engine with brackets, so I measured the holes on the tractor and studs on the tank. They are both 5" apart so I guess it probably was on it originally.

Hi Tom, I signed on the site a few minutes ago and thought I should check this thread before I message you. I'm afraid the tank is probably no good anyway as I still can't get the cap off to look inside. Been soaking it with Kroil since last night. It was laying in a leaky shed for close to a quarter of a century!

Just Joined the Executive club!!! Brought home what I believe to be a 1964 8E. Both the tractor and mower deck serial tags are in place. The grill frame has been welded on many years ago and part of the frame near the rear may be either broken or is loose. Its not running at this time. The deck is rough and will need a new right front edge manufactured and installed. The ignition key is very unusual with a knob attached to it. One of the hood latches is missing the catch. Have wanted one of these ever since missing one ten years ago and am thrilled to have found this one. Thank you for listening to my rambling.

Glad that you found one!  :dancingbanana:  Looks to be complete.  I'm missing part of a latch also.

Good luck on your resto'.   Rick

Great find ACMowerguy! I dig seeing these old survivors but it also kinda bums me that mine has been altered so much through the years! Keep us posted and take more pics!
