""I call my Executive a 1961 as that is what Dick told me when I bought it from him. Is that a realistic guess on the year of this old workhorse?""

From what info has been gathered, and most of that is unconfirmed, the MF8E
model was made in 64,65,and possibly 66.
Apparently the 64 had the cast aluminum steering wheel, as did the 63 MF7E.
There is a pdf in the manuals that shows unconfirmed production years and #'s.

What is your MF8E's serial # ?

Inkman has talked to a fellow named Dan quite a bit. He is very knowledgeable
on the history of the Execs, and Motomowers. Both where made by the same
company back then. Duro Corp.
I talked breifly to Dan. He's more than happy to discuss these ol girls.
I'll pm you his phone #. I know he'll be happy to here from an Exec owner.

Hey cool. If I adjust some dials on my monitor, and squint, the sticky is almost the right shade of yellow.

I don't know the serial number yet as I couldn't look at that page. I had already downloaded 2 Executive files. I will check it again tomorrow.
It will be interesting to talk to Dan but I don't even know enough about these things to know what to ask! I bet he knows what to tell me tho!--LOL.

I will put some pics in after this. Unfortunately it was raining all day today so I didn't get the Executive out of the little shed it stays in but I took a couple in the shed.

I apologise for it being so filthy as I had planned to pressure wash tractors today. No one ever wanted to see pics of them before so I guess keeping them real clean never was at the top of my chores list before!

I also put in a pic of the steering wheel on my MF12 as I would like to find a better one but I'm kinda scared to ask what decent ones may be selling for.

Anyway thanks again for all of the responses!

PS- Someday I will figure out why the pics load so haphazardly for me!

When you go to upload a pic, hit enter first to get to a new line. Once you upload and insert the pics, hit preview post. It will show you where the pics are and what order. If you want to move one, hover over that pic and hold down left mouse button while moving the pic where you want it. You can go to the test forum and play around there, or you can edit your post and maybe move them. Not sure on the last thing though.

I fixed the positioning of the pics. Follow Kenny's directions, should do it. You can also click "Done" instead of insert inline and that will put them all at the end of your post.
