I use my leave blower to clean the floor of my garage then wait around 15 minute and blow it

then wait around a 1/2 hour before I spray paint

helps with the dust

my biggest problem are the bugs landing on the fresh paint

almost always get one bug in the fresh paint

it depends on the wind

Finally made some time to work the seat pan last night.  Sanded off my primer, re-primed the back of the seat pan, and let it dry over night.  I hope to sand the primer and then throw a couple coats of color on it later.  My goal for labor day weekend is to get the new seat cushion installed on the pan then installed on the tractor.

Got a few coats on the pan.  I know the inside surface was not originally painted but I want the bare metal sealed if moisture happens to get inside.  It's hard to believe it is the end of August and our current temp is 65 degrees.

Looks like a green mirror! Good work, Rev!

Thanks Sarg!

The back of the pan looks even better.  This is after a couple of light coats.  I will do one more in a bit.

The seat pan on these tractors (square fender 110/112, 120/140) were green.  I am not sure when the switch to the black seat took place but my guess is it was with the 200 series introduction.

Wanted to sand the pan and paint the final color coat but that will wait for tomorrow.  The paint can says wait 30 mins max or 36 hours or more between coats.  It was really cool and humid yesterday and that shows in the paint.  Today it is quite humid too.  I guess it is finally August in Iowa.

I hope to take a class at the local community college to teach me "tricks" of base/clear.  I want to use base clear on the 110.

Once you go that route, it is hard to go back.  The biggest trick is keeping the surface completely dust free.  You have twice the layers of material going on.  The good thing is, you're not relying on the base coat to produce the shine.  Dupont Chroma Clear is my personal favorite.  HARD as nails and Gloss like a wet mirror.   :smilewink:
