I'm pretty sure that in the G Series, only the G12 and G14 have the controlled differential.
I know that my '77 G10 doesn't have one.

No it is a completely different beast. Vertical shaft, belt drive peerless tranzaxle.

It is possible that the engine has been replaced at some point... you can see where there is red on the starter which was not an original color.
