Engine oil?

Rotella for the diesel... In air cooled flatheads I run straight 30, and in a couple older older ones I use straight 40 to keep the smoke to a minimum.
I use Fred's oil in the small engines because... #1 Julie works there so it's easy to pick up, and #2 it's pretty good stuff for cheap oil.
In the vehicles I use one form or another of Castrol, depending on what it's going into.

I use Synthetic oil. I was not a huge believer in sythetic oil until an oil salesman told me to run regular oil and sythetic oil through a coffee filter. Boys regular oil has dirt in it. Can clearly be seen in a coffee filter. That poo comes out of the ground and they only filter it so well. Given my small gas engines have no oil filter to help remove this from the crankcase I will never look at regular oil again.

That's probably the most absurd piece of "logic" I have ever heard but if it works for you, then carry on.
