I have a C-120 8 speed Wheel Horse with a 42" rear discharge mower deck on it. I just recently installed the deck and am unsure about which belt groove I should use. (Double sheave out of motor, inside or outside). I know there are some experts on here that can answer this.
Thanks in advance.

How does the belt tension to kick in the mower? My three C-120 auto's, and my GT14 all HAD to go in the outside one, as it WAS the PTO engagement pulley with a clutch facing on it..

The manual for my D160 says inner groove, the outer is for the Rear PTO on mine. I do have to adjust the Tachamatic adjuster almost all the way out to get good tension on the deck drive pully.

Wow how my memory has failed me. I forgot how the pto clutch had 2 grooves. After seeing the parts diagram, then it came back to me. In my weak defense, it has been many years since owing my last Wheel Horse.

Inner groove is correct as ColdOne suggested.
