way cool. Heres what i know about your seeder. In 1937 Planet jr bought out iron king, so your seeder is no newer than a 36'. It appears that planet jr didnt change them much as the old ones still look like the newers one, other than the markings on the handels. Interesting to see the D handels, as some seeder of all type seem to use them or not in the same yr. The planet books state you could get either the odd planet ones or plow handels, which ever you prefered. It doesnt state anything about the D ones. That is one nice complete seeder you have there.

well the only reason i know this is because i got some Planet papers here that announces it. It was just a fluke of luck that i went to an auction yrs ago and they had a complete package of paper work there with a #4 seeder. They sold off the seeder, but the paper work disappeared just before the item sold. I only wanted the paper so i stopped the auction and asked wehat happened to it. It seems that the onwers kids had diecided they wanted the box of car mags it was in and took it off the auction. I riased a little heck about putting stuff out of the sale and then taking it back. They were all embrassed, so the kids let me have the planet papers for free, to keep the peace with the crowd. There #4 brought a couple hundred, and i got a Simplicity seeder with all its plates and row marker, for $140. This is the same seeder as the DB tractors used, just a differnt hitch. not a bad days work. it was later at home that i found a letter inside explaining that Planet had bought iron king, on very nice company letterhead.
