It looks like in some years there were Suburbans and Supers available of the same hp ratings. Was there a reason for one being a Suburban and one a Super other than possibly paint color?

The Super was a higher trim level. Wider tires, sometimes Cig Lighters, wood grain dash boards, and longer footboards.

Thanks for the information. I was wondering if it was just something like that.

This is a Sear thing. Since their beginning they applied the Good, Better, Best way of selling you anything. including garden tractors.

My mod. 917.25121 manual cover lists it as a Suburban 12 hp. elect. start. Inside that cover page the header reads Sears Super 12 Suburban. Pg. 2 header reads Sears Super 12 Tractor mod...... duh? A salesman could say any name. It has the cigarette lighter. Jade Mist & Artic White. Does anyone hear of the rear split hubs cracking? Mine did, had to braze it back together. It has worked fine since.
