Good morning Tucker, Maynard. Some serious rain happening here in Halifax, but not enough to dampen the good news for local shipbuilding, as A 25 Billion $ contract for combat vessels has been awarded to a Halifax based shipyard.

Good morning.

That sounds like fun.

We used to make apple butter here up until a few years ago.Still have the Copper Kettles but with the price of what we need in ingredients and such it just isn't worth the 2 solid days of boiling down apples.I sure do miss the taste of home made apple butter though.

There's a couple apple orchards just a few steps from our yard.Love how every road around us is named after a type of apple.Macintosh Lane,Cortland Drive,Granny Smith lane ect ect

Yep, sure is fun. We pick our apples for free off of a large apple orchard after they have gotten what they wanted. Sometimes there isn't a market for certain apples so they won't pick them. Sure makes getting apples easy. We have an old hand crank cider grinder/press that we use and roast the pig over a fire all day. Sure is some good tasting pig in the end. We have made apple butter before but is a lot of work. Sit and stir it all day.

Good morning to all. Expect to be busy today getting the final touches done around here to get ready for Kathy's band to visit tomorrow, expecting about 20 people for a jam session and snacks. It will be a garage full of Bluegrass Musicians, and a few of us listeners. Some seat time involved as need one more pickup of the last few leaves and a driveway grade job after all the rain we have had. Everyone enjoy the day and be safe.

Good morning folks. Got some fall chores to do today. I need to fill and level an area, make some pallets, and stack some firewood. My woodshed is full and I have another cord to be stacked. Greg, A garage full of bluegrass musicians sounds like a good time! Tucker - roast pig and apple cider sounds delicious! We've got another great fall day here and I hope you guys do as well.
