The Haban #414 Sickle-Mo, WILL mount on a tube frame
I finally got some other parts I was needing for the G10, and put it together, so I could try mounting the Sickle-Mo.
Just as I suspected, the 414 was just a 405A with some extra parts/pieces added to make it work with a Wheel Horse.
I took off that extra mounting plate at the front, and the mower hooked up to the G10 slicker than a smelt.
That's the good news. The bad news is that the PTO shaft isn't long enough to connect to the mower. It's about 1 1/2-2" too short :mecry:
I need to get that taken care of before I can use it. Sure looks good mounted on the G10 though

... Have you got a 'shaft stretcher' handy? ...
Yeah, one of them rascles would be nice to have
It sure would have been nice if it would have been to LONG. I coulda shortened it. But, my luck doean't run like that.

Hope you can find an easy fix for getting a longer driveshaft

... What type of shaft is it? Something simple or odd shaped?
It's square, same as all of the other Bolens PTO shafts for the tube frames.
I'm thinking of taking the universal that I have for running the mower, snow thrower, etc, and having a hole drilled in it, similar to the hole that's in the splined end, so that I can use it to hold different lengths of shaft, or remove the shaft for running the aforementioned implements.

I found a place that cut the old shaft out of the universal that came with the 414, and then they welded in a new piece.
You need to use the one from/for the 414 as the shaft for the Sickle-Mo is 3/4" x 3/4", whilst the Bolens shafts are 3/4" x 7/8".
If you can find someone to do that, or if you can do it yourself, the length of the shaft, measured from end of the yoke needs to be 8" long. That will give plenty of length at the other end to drive the mower, and still allow enough movement to make it easy to connect to the PTO.
