My son called me last nite. Asked if I wanted an electric mower. Of course, I said yes. Turns out it is a GE, with 54" cut (does that sound right?). Still works. I have to make a road trip to Wichita to get it. That's about all I know about it right now. Oh yeah, he said it is HEAVY! Wonder why? :bigrofl:

I'll see if he can send a pic of it. I'll probably need lots of support on this one, folks. Lots of reading to do.

I am not sure of the specifics yet. Just what I have stated. I'll send my son an e-mail and see if more info and a pic can be added. He works two jobs, so may be a while before I can get more info. I have been looking over the GE forum trying to get some info/pics to have an idea of what I'm getting.

P.S. E-mail has been sent. Hope to get a model #, serial #, and some pics soon.

Sparky, might be weekend after next before I get to go after it. I e-mailed my son for more info/pics. After looking through the info here, I'm trying to figure out why he said it is a 54" deck. Is that what the full width of the metal is on a 42"? I may take the trailer to go get it, as it is only about a foot off the ground and has ramps. Is most of the weight over the rear wheels. About how long is the tractor with mower deck attached? How's those for starter questions?

Kenny - lenghth ot tractor is approx 72 inches. I hauled one in Silverado bed with deck squeezed under machine ( tight ) .Width is normally 37 to 40 inches tire track. The deck if it has side discharge chute could be total 50 inches or more - cut is 42 inches. And if you have access to a curved aluminum set of loading ramps you should have no trouble.

I have no problem hauling it in the pickup. My 8' ramps are long enough, just would be easier with the low trailer. Plus, I know only what I have read today about it. Thanks.
