Hi All,
I'm picking up a QT17 today to handle mowing around the farm (lawn, around the garden etc.). I have avoided these machines in the past as they seem to be the red headed stepchild of Bolens line, but it was cheap money. I'm aware that most folks think the engine is junk in these, but this one's engine sounds perfect after 30 years of use. I'm sure it isn't close to the HT23s that I used to have, but, heck, all I want it to do is mow grass. If anyone has insights on how to keep that engine in one piece. I'm all ears!

twocyl, :welcome: to GTTalk!

As with every engine, regular oil changes seem to be the big key. Maybe a bolens guru will have better info.

Thanks for joining. Can't wait for pictures.

Welcome
Although the Q series tractors may not be as collectable as other Bolens models, they still are a well built machine.
When you pick it up we would love to see some pictures!

twocyl welcome, as with all engines I would say just change the oil and filters as needed. Im sure that if its still running good that it will be fine!
