before someone is coming to consider buying it. its on but the belt wont tighten and the front of the deck wont lift up. what do those little tabs in the front of the deck do?

there should be a couple of cast - oval shaped eyelets for those tabs to slide into. That is what raises the front.

Quite a windfall! A profit like that should allow you $20 to become a site supporter. The info you got about your 122, it's value, aid in getting it running surely is worth the $20 it would cost to help keep this site up and running.

it took 2 hours to get the deck on, 114 degrees on the front lawn, a living hell. and of course, my neighbors who just loves me comes home, goes flying after the buyer flashing lights beeping the horn, with my luck he was gonna tell him what i made. cub cadet decks are the biggest pain. then get this, the PTO clutch was working fine, the guy took the belt off that moved all 3 spindles and the deck didnt wanna dis engage, so he pulls the PTO lever back like a mad man for gods sake. i told him there wasnt enough friction coming from the deck, he had the handle back to the seat... if he didnt buy it, i would have flipped.
