Hi Guys,

New to the forum.  I am starting a resto on a Bolens 1050 and would like to know the year.  The engine serial number is 4252558 and the engine model is a TRA-10D.

Thanks!

Welcome!

Your engine was made in 1966 which would make the year of your machine a1967

Please feel free to post a new thread with some pictures of your 1050 :wewantpics:

Thank you for the info Bolens 1000!

This was my uncles 1050 that he bought new.  He always maintained the machine and the attachments.  Everything has been stored in the old hay barn, so the condition of the machine is very good.

I have the following attachments:

Snow plow
36" Sno-Caster
42" Mower deck
Chipper / Shredder
Custom-built cab

Really looking forward to getting the Bolens running again!

p.s. - What is the best way to post pics?

Thanks!

Nice tractor!  But the front tires need air! :(

Your tractor is also equipped with a # 18520 Spring Assist Kit, to help lift the weight of a snowblower or tiller attachment.  .....The Spring Assist Kit is not commonly found on these tractors.

What was your uncle's connection to the Mack bulldog?  .....We had a Mack dealer as a customer (in NJ), and he furnished a bulldog for us to install on his Bolens 1050.

LOL! Yes, those tires are a bit flat.  No worries though, picked up a set of tires already.

I noticed that spring kit too, but did not know it was uncommon.

Thanks Doc!

The paint is in good shape, but I just can't help not giving her a fresh coat of paint!  I wish my uncle was around to see this, so I have to do him proud.

Thanks!

I don't know where my uncle got the Mack bulldog, but its been mounted on the Bolens as long as I can remember.  Funny, that you mentioned the Mack dealer wanting to install one on his Bolens too!

Thanks!
