This is a old Build but I thought I would show the Yard trailer I built. I built this trailer back in 2006. This was my first real welding project.
The bed is a piece of steel from an electrical pannel, it is right around 1/8" thick, The bed is 5'x5'

The frame is built from 1.5"x1.5"x1/8" angle iron.
Posted Image
The axles are greasable.
Posted Image
I wanted a hitch that would articulate up to 90 degrees in any direction, and this is what I came up with.

Of course after the build I had to take it out and cross some creeks and see how it did. This was the smaller of the creeks at my old house.

Man do I miss the 6X6, that thing was fun.

NICE trailer Chuck
I like that hitch. That will keep the neighbors from borrowing it. :-))

Thanks, the hitch has worked well, all it takes is a 2" receiver. I need to add a receiver to some of my tractors still. Also need to build a sleeve hitch mounted receiver.

We made the axles, they started life as bolts. drilled a small hole down the center, then enlarged the hole in the end to tap it for a grease fitting, the cross drilled the axle to gice the grease a place to go.

Still haven't added any tie downs or sides on it.

Nice trailer, and thats the first time I've seen a hitch built that way.Guess due to all the rough terrain you needed something that universal.Larry

Nice build, I've been toying with building a hitch like that but wasn't sure how well it would work. Now I'll go ahead and build one. Thanks for the information.

I really like that setup Chuck, and I might just copy the hitch design in the future lol.

Great trailer, Chuck. Thanks for posting pics of the build. Looks good behind the 6X6. I like the hitch, too. Good way to set it up for all terrain.

Chuck, Very nice build, is the axle tube angle iron or steel tubing. I really can't tell from the pictures. Those spindles are slick, nice job..

I'm a little late to the game, but I love the trailer. I'm amazed at the ideas and talent on this forum.
