[DH1]

Picked up this set of Reel mowers, tried them last night, and they seem to sort of work.
I have no real experience with this type of mower and am looking for some advice, help.
How do you service them?
How do you adjust or set them up?
How do you sharpen them,I heard about back lapping but???

That style reel was also used with the Bolens Tractors

without all of the expensive equipment to properly sharpen them, back lapping is the best way to maintain the cutting edges. If you know anyone that works at a golf course, talk to them most of them have the equipment and know how to help you out. nice find, have fun with them

a matching set of those mower are a rare find.the ting with them is you have to mow like every other day they dont cut tall grass. i want to find a 5 gang but if i found a 3 i would take it

Those gang mowers were made by Roxy-Bonner which was located in Hatboro, Pennsylvania.

They were sold for use with many brands of tractors.

I don't know of any golf course, with natural grass, that uses anything other than reel mowers on greens and most also use them on tees.
