On my way back from northern MN today I stopped in at a place with a few mowers out front. It is a business. Crabby man in the shop was little to no help at all though. Through the weeds I saw about a dozen round fenders, couple dozen blowers, several decks, a few front PTO units, tillers, a Haban flail chopper, some plows, and dozens of 100, 200, and 300 series tractors in various states. It was a treasure trove I tell ya. When I inquired on price of a few things all he seem to be able to say was, "I'm sure you don't have enough money for it." Why advertise as a business when all you want to do is hang on to your stuff until it rots away?

Hwy 371 North of Little Falls. Had a bunch of non-JD stuff too but I didn't pay too much attention to it.

I think he's actually is a 2-star gen now. You should stop by that place and see if you have any better luck than I did.

There's a guy near here that runs a junkyard. I have been there twice, first time he was a little crusty, but he saw I was there for the appreciation of the pieces he had and gave me a short tour.last time, he sold me a set of wheel weights for .32 per pound (what he is paying at that time).

Sometimes, just showing that you like their stuff, and don't consider it scrap or a quick buck (many of these guys have sold things reasonable to people in the past, just to have them flip it and make money) is enough to open a door. Also, if there is a derelict there of what you have, see if he will sell you a spare part off it, even if you don't really need it. May just open a door.

That's the approach I took but with no luck. Didn't seem like many doors were to open that day. Maybe another day would be a different story.
