Hi, first post though I've been an onlooker since 2010.

I'm in france and there are some oddball versions of GT's here, I've an Ariens Gt17 I think brought over from the states yet to be sorted but my question of the day is that I have a Craftsman LT1000, 14.5hp electric start model 917.277101  which I'd like to find more information on. Can anyone tell me it's year and does the model number give clues to it's origins. It had a twin deck of around 38" which my son has swopped for a 42" deck from a Mcculloch as the o.e one was thin metal and rusted out. There's nothing in particular we need to know at the moment having just replaced both belts which was interesting as I could not find a parts list showing the transmission belt layout correct for our machine.

I looked for a place to intro myself as I like to do that before posting but couldn't find one.

Yea good buddies when I'm not watching I had to sneak up to get this video.

thanks too for the link to the manual and parts list KennyP.

I used the craftsman last night -cuts well but now got oil blowing out some where near or from the filler cap. Also smokes from the exhaust when I hit a deep patch of weeds under the trees that are seen in the photos but it's only the second time this year I've been mowing there and the grass was pretty high and still wet-ish. we've had a wet time of it lately unusual for this part of france.
