im a newbie that needs some advice

hey guys i am new to the site, and i am getting ready to do a light restoration of my cub cadet 126. i plan on pulling the motor tomarow and looking at that. i am only 15 but i go to a vocational school and am in small engines i have confodence i can do a complete engine rebuild, but the rest of the tractor idk, i have no idea about the wiring, switches, PTO, sylinoids, i really would like some help if possible. i am really gunna try to do a rat rod/hot rod look, (saten black, red and white) give me some opinions and tips maybe wiring diagram. thanks guys!

i got it fro 225 with a new set of tire chains. i need new fronts, a carb rebuild kit, all new gaskets, seals and maybe new crank bearings. any ideas what sites to go on?? for this stuf? its a kohler k series 12hp

There is a link at the top right hand side of the main forum page that will take you to E-bay, I usually look there for Kohler engine parts. If you check the manual section, there are part and service manuals for both the engine and the tractor.

i was looking at those manuals and my cub is one of the years with no headlights, do you off hand know what year? thanks.

Just a suggestion, make your next quest a mower deck. Then you can mow for $$$$ and support your hobby. Good luck with your project. BTW I think headlights were optional on a lot of models. :smile1:
