I just picked up a 140 this weekend and need to decide which one i like best. I have a 300 in real nice shape except it has a donor 14hp in it and now this 140. any pros and cons from you folks will help. I think the 140 may win.

I like the lines of the 140 better myself. The 300 should have a 16hp kohler on it, shouldn't it?

Yes, the 300 should have a 16 hp Kohler in it.

Both are great machines. You didn't say if the 140 was a H1 or a H3 and that could make a difference if you are planing using it in place of the 300. The 300 has two hyd levers and dual brakes. You could use two attachment on it at the same time . One on front ,one on back. Also could us the 4-way 54 blade on it also.

If the 140 is a H1 you only have one hyd lever limiting your uses of it and some of the H1's didn't have the dual brakes. But then if it is a H3 well that is another ball game. You could use three attachments on it at once.

Another plus for the 300 and 140 is that most if not all of the attachments are interchangable.

If it was me I would keep both of them.

Mark

just sold the 200. I have a 755 but would love a 400. the 140 is a h3 with disk brakes. The 300 puked its 16 and i had a 14 laying around from a 314 parts tractor I have. I like the 3 levers and disk brakes not to mention the lines of the 140. The 300 is mint though. Thanks for the inputs. keep um coming. I will post pics.
