My 1st intent with this Yanmar was to put it in my Massey 1855 w/FEL. But the 18hp Onan I rebuilt that's in it runs like a dream, so not sure I wanna switch it out, at least not now. Too busy & too hot to get into it.
But if I find another sweet deal, I'll need to pass it onto someone else. I've put myself into poverty status as it is.

I'll bring the 990 down on it's pallet and let you tuck that diesel under it's hood. You can put the tractor back together around the motor, It will be easier that way.

Just got home from a 5hr trip to pick up the Yanmar package. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Came still in the frame cradle, along with the Gator transmission, so hopefully I can sell the trans for a few $'s. The radiator looks to be a 3 to 4 core. Small enough to fit under any hood, and has electric fan. This engine could fit in about anything. Still no definite plans for it. It has a bit of blowby they said, but not smoking bad and runs well. Has 3 new glowplugs that cost $40 each!

It's hard to believe I have 3 diesel tractors (Kubota G4200, Massey 1010, diesel JBI), 1 diesel JD F935 mower, and now this Yanmar diesel engine. Just 5 years ago I had NO diesels and figured never to be able to own one!

Way to go , Dan. Good things come to those who wait. Or as my youngest brothers FIL used to say - " I didn't know how much money there was in scrap dealing until I got divorced " . My wife and I have ups and downs , but hey Sparky

Only a couple hours of shop time today, but spent it piddling with the Yanmar. Seen one of the electric radiator fan motor wires had been pulled completely out. So peeled the motor apart & put in a new wire. Very tricky getting everything back together right, but it works great! The thermocouple switch works great as well. When the fan kicks on, it draws the diesel down sharply for a second at idle speed. Man does it blow some heat when it kicks on too! Whatever this engine goes in, the radiator will be placed "fan to front" to pull the air through the radiator, then out the grill so it won't be quite as much heat back towards the operator.
I have to find a small air filter housing though, as there wasn't a complete one with the Gator come to find out. Anybody have a spare to fit a small diesel?
