Well, it's putting me in a cash squeeze, but I have bought another diesel engine. It's an 18hp Yanmar out of a JD Gator. Complete with starter, radiator, complete wiring harness, everything needed to run her. I've bought it for $300. I will pick it up within a couple weeks. I know the fella, as we've plowed twice at his place, and I know I can trust him. I've paid $130, with a balance of $170. Someone else was supposed to have bought it, but they couldn't afford, so I went ahead & took it. I truly should not have bought it, as I'm tight as can be, but heck, a complete package for just $300! Couldn't afford not to!
It uses some oil, so likely needs at least a re-ring job later on, but runs decent as-is.

Originally I thought of the Allis 720, but not sure now. Want to see how the CCKB runs out. Not sure how the diesel would fit in the Allis either. If the CCKB runs great, I'm leaving her stock. Otherwise, plans for the diesel are open.

Hi Dan
You have an Allis 720? I did not know that.I saw a pic of one the other day. They look like a real monster.
Have you got any pictures of yours posted somewhere?

Sounds like a very good deal on that engine. Hard to pass on something like that.

Glad to hear you made another good buy. Definitely know about tight money situations but somehow find enough when the good buys come along. I know you will let us know what you do with your new power.

Geez Dan!

You're raising the bar again and I haven't even gotten out of the gate with a diesel engine conversion of my own. :mecry:

Thankfully I do have my factory diesel CUT to play with, but I want to build an Ingersoll GT diesel conversion one of these here days. If you keep buying up all of the good deals out there how are we supposed to compete?

Perhaps you should find a good Ingersoll / Case recipient and slip that ole diesel engine in it. That way I could show around your pictures and tell everyone that was what I was going to do. It'll get done a lot faster that way, that's for sure!
