I started with a 1966 Triumph Bonneville when I was 18, boy my Mom was pissed when I rode it home and she found out it was in my name. Have ridden a few since (am now 68). Was looking for an old cushman or something to putz around on when a good friend said I have an old motorcycle I'll give you. The wife and I went and looked at it and she said, go ahead and get it, you won't get it running anyway. It had been sitting for several years and I trailered it home, got it firing that night. I still have it, kind of an odd bike, maybe not what I would have bought, but still ride the 1977 Honda CB750A every year.  My wife hates for me to ride. I haven't gotten it out yet this year, but keep looking at it in the corner of the garage, it is just waiting on me. Now I pretty well ride solo and run errands or just cruise the back roads, especially when she isn't home.

1977 Honda CB750A

Had one of those here for a short while. The automatic is kind of an interesting idea but I didn't ride it enough to say if I liked it or not. Certainly no speed machine but on the other hand around town I would think they would be a good deal. Also understand that quite a few owners added sidecars to them. When your hips or knees start giving you problems that might be and option. Who knows your wife might get a kick out of a sidecar.

Here's mine while I cleaning chrome, my wife whistled...I looked up and she snapped this pic.  I hid my face by copying in green stuff :)

I have been riding for years as well, and have owned about everything out there from BMW's, Triumph's, Moto Guzzi's to Harleys.  Currently I have a RARE bird, an old 1983 Yamaha Midnight Virago 920 with the factory fairing, saddlebags, & trunk.  It can be seen under my album:  Rebel715.

I rode for about 27 years, stopped about 20 years ago when I just didn’t feel safe with the other drivers.

Picked out a 2017 honda cb500f. Now to just decide if I want to buy it. Test drive the r model and it's a more forward position. The f is the same bike but naked and sits upright.

Test rides were good.

Didnt even ask to see my license. Which I do have a motorcycle endorsement. Got years ago on a honda ct90!

I'm still thinking about if I want to get into it.
