I had to pull the one out of my second snapper 1650 as the first was cracked up pretty bad. Now I need a new casting. Just need the cast aluminum box.

Take pics and get part numbers from the aluminum gear box. If It's a Ross, the box was most likely used in many other tractors.

They are a ross unit, shouldn't be too hard to find. I don't know if that aluminum part was the same on all of them or what. I have one here but it has the side busted out of it too.

If they're the same as the 1655/1855 units I have one.

MANY other brands had this box - Ross - (Ford, Cub, JD, WH, etc) However, you have to be careful of the shaft length, box is same but shaft be different length. If you can remove the shaft tube - which can sometimes be impossible - you can use your shaft/tube.
