My brother is going to build my 3 point for me, but I was having trouble figuring out where the pull rods attached. When I move the lift lever I can't see anything move. I'm leary of getting under running machines.

I convinced myself that I was missing something, but after help from others and further invesitigation. Here is what is happening.

The ram is just moving within this slot, does it just need tightened?

The slot is so the implement/deck can lift itself when it hits high spots. With the ram just moving within the slot, it means either the shaft with the slot is tight, or it just needs weight on it to move it downward. This puts only lift force, not any down-force.

Thanks for the welcome

I got the 990 off a guy in Wichita, Kansas. It's a 7 hour drive I didn't want to make so I used Uship and found a guy who brought it to me. I picked up a 960 last summer and have been wanting a 990 and haven't even gotten a sniff of one until this one. I'd sold 3 IH Cubs so I've got a little of my hobby money to put into this thing.

Olcowhand,

Eventually I'm gonna have to decide on a color for this thing. How close did you match the unico green? I've admired yours for sometime, when I lifted the hood on this it sure was a brighter green than I expected.

It's pretty close, maybe a bit more metallic than original, but not too much. I also seen an OLD can of Unico motor oil still on a shelf at the local Southern States Coop store, & my paint is real close to it. I'll see if my paint can is still around & if I can see the paint code. It is single stage acrylic enamel...PPG. I don't mind a bit if you used the same paint. That would be a compliment really.

I'm actually considering selling the Unico soon. Out of room & more projects coming. Need to rotate the monies into other stuff. I just got her out a couple days ago. Need to mount the just lately painted deck & see how she mows.

You still have that Massey? Don't think I could part with such nice machines. Luckily mine never look so good, no problem letting them go.

Thanks for the paint info.

My MF12H? Yep, still have it & actually considered selling her also, but doubt I ever will though. It was the 44th of it's model to come off the line. Might not be an older one still around!
