Late this winter I decided to hunt up a Cub Lo-Boy, found one on CL a couple hours from home.  Had too many things going on with the surgery & new trailer purchase to go after it right then.  I watched it until I could go after it, surprise, still available!  Made arrangements to look at it a couple weeks ago & brought it home:  Tractors 2018 003.JPG   Tractors 2018 004.JPG

First thing was to take off the 59" Woods belly mower (I have a better mowing tractor), then start ordering needed parts.  Tractors 2018 005.JPG

I have an air cleaner ready to put on now, drawbar is on, seller had taken a cutting torch to the seat frame & welded on an old Ferguson pan seat   :wallbanging:   I repaired the cut up frame & ordered new cushions for it.

Still has issues, but what old tractor doesn't?  An oil leak needs fixed, governor started acting up a couple days ago, needs a fresh paint job, etc.  Gives me something to do, as if I don't have enough projects in the works already!   :D

Took it & PK to a small (very small) show today:  Tractors 2018 018.JPG

I like that style a lot better than the later model yellow and white ones.    Rick

Hi grnspot110, not a bad looking Cub loboy I like that style of Loboy and that grill etc, wonder what the thinking was on the aircleaner, I know many including the "A" & "B" get the seats hacked or replaced, will be following your updates

Was the aircleaner  originally between the grill & radiator like on the early Cubs?

Under the hood, right behind the external intake that's on it now.

You can see the hole in the hood in this picture:  Tractors 2018 015.JPG

Thanks I must be thinking of something else my Earthmaster has it between the grill and radiator when I restored it the was no aircleaner to be found so I used a Cub one and it fit perfectly just had to shorten the inlet air tube.

I see you got the seat changed looks good

Been doing some work on Cubby today, took the "junk yard special" alternator off.  Had to do some cutting where the knot-head welded to one of the bolts that held the regulator plate:  Tractors 2018 019.JPG

New "mini" alternator is on order, I'll make a new bracket for it.

Put on the new exhaust pipe & muffler:  Tractors 2018 021.JPG

Air cleaner is now in place:  Tractors 2018 020.JPG    Tractors 2018 022.JPG

Densco.

I haven't had time to look yet, but I think I have a coil bracket.

Slow coming update:  I have finally gotten the hood cleaned up & painted;  Tractors 2018 025.JPG   Tractors 2018 026.JPG   Tractors 2018 027.JPG

Progress has been slow due to normal spring garden work & mowing, along with the problem of a bad knee.  Hope to get Cubby to a show next Saturday if I'm up to it!
