Should if you can get it in your coffee pot. Seriously, you would need to be able to soak it and it could only be the aluminum and what you're trying to take out. Anything metal will be gone.
If it is not a through hole, I am thinking build a dam around the hole. Plumbers putty? silicone?. Set the piece out in the sun and fill the dam with the solution. The sun will heat the aluminum much to hot to hold. Is the solution depleted/consumed in the process? Don

I've never tried it. I would say it would be depleted. I don't think you could get enough in the hole to do it.
