Picking up this Massey next weekend. I am doing a tractor haul this weekend so I couldn't pick it up. What can you guys tell me about. I own yellow Masseys. No red and silver.

Nice. Does it run.? Looks like a 73 or older. No front running boards. Nice to have the 3 point hitch. Not many had that. Any other attachments. ? I have a 14.

Anyone sell the nose cone, and how hard are parts. Does it look like I am missing anything important

Red - use implement red

Silver - Rustelumn wheel silver

Gray- I go to the dealer and get the Flint Grey

Black- semi gloss black

 

I see there is a Cat 0 3 pt. hitch attached to the tractor

They are a rare find and worth a few dollars, check for the lock out straps

These at strong good working tractors

I have all the Massey attachments and a 12" Brinley Cat 0 plough

 

Download the operators and parts manual in the manual section and you will see the lock out straps and how to use them

 

A couple of years ago I bought a repo cast aluminum bezel

Hoping to find the guy and get more, no luck last year, maybe this year

 

 

In 1975 the grill screen changed from the steel perforated plate to expanded metal for better cooling

If yours have the perforated steel grill screen engine may have over heated at one time

In 1975 the lift cylinder under the tractor also changed size

About the only thing missing I can see in those 3 picks are the connecting straps for the 3 pt. hitch

You can see them in the attached picture along with a lock out strap on the 3pt. cylinder so the lift cylinder under the tractor will work

Unfortunately you can not use both lift cylinders at the same time with factory set up hence the lock out straps

Looks like a 72-74, 75-76 would have had the floorboard extensions like the 16’s had. They are good tractors, that 3pt is a nice thing to find on them.

Maple Hunter decals are good for this model, that’s what I used on mine.

For paint I prefer the correct colour MF paint, I guess I’m just picky. MF Red, Flint Gray Metallic, Silver mist, black is just semi gloss.

These had a Kohler in them unlike the 10/12, K321? 14hp. Engine parts are easy to come by, most of the rest of it isn’t too bad your not likely going to need much. That broken tail light on the rear might be a bit hard to find last i looked they were discontinued from Massey. The steering wheel doesn’t look correct to me. The mufflers are hard to find so hopefully yours is good.

Steering wheels are different. Mine is a 76 and my buddy has a 73. His steering wheel is different than mine, and his doesn't have the front running boards.

Fuel tank has been replace with a plastic one, 

Are the tins there for under the dash,

don't forget ask about them, 3 pcs to cover the 3 sides

Other than that from the pics it looks like a complete tractor

Hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like it missing the handle for locking the brake

I have two 14’s and even learned some things from everyone’s responses. No doubt it’ll be a fun project. Hard to tell but in the third picture from the top it looks like that might the factory toplink laying on the ground behind the tractor. Hopefully it is, as my 14’s have the three point but neither had the factory toplink with them.

Good eye propane1  I just saved and zoomed in and you are correct

Seems that assembly is missing, but the knobs are on the lift and hood latch levers

The left panel that is missing is where the serial number plate would be located. The side panels are difficult to find if they are missing. I was looking for a left one last year to replace one that was rusted out at the bottom. I ended up just welding in a new patch of sheet metal to replace what the rust had ate.

I hope to do a good search and get all the parts. I am supposed to get it next Saturday so I hope to start ordering parts
