Based upon some research on the forum here, I assume I have a Simplicity Broadmoor. But, is it a 728, a 738 or what? I know the engine is not correct. It is a more modern 12 hp Briggs. The I.D. No. on the rear between the fenders is 577010953. Cheers, Mike

The MFR number is 990577. It is a 728 Broadmoor. One easy way to tell the difference between the 728 and 738 is the lift lever. The 738 had the bar and chain underneath the tractor rather than on the side of the lever. Also the 738's had the 3 spoke steering wheel while some of the 728's had a two-spoke wheel.

Thank you for the info. It amazes me how much steel they used to put in them. Gonna sit on it for a while and maybe consider a restoration. Got some projects ahead of it in line though. Thanks again.
