picked up the 2 wheelhorses today a 551 and 701, i recently saw an ad for these local, 15 minutes away which was nice, guy had them stored for decades, came with a bunch of extra early style parts and 4 mower decks, 2 early style 32" for the 551 and 2 rm 364 decks. nice thing all the guards and heat shields were there, only thing I need is a seat for the 701.

Look like they are in nice shape. Going to wash them and leave them as is? Just need a little tic to get them running I suppose.

that's the plan just clean them up and get them up and running and go from there, then someday when I get time again tear them down and restore.

Very nice pair of '61's. Glad they went to a good home.

Is the 701 seat pan square?

Yes I believe it's the square style, first thing I do on that one is yank that seat off and toss it

here is pic of the 2 of the decks, I believe they are the rmr 3261 type. these are both very solid no rot and the gears are in great shape no slop. both look like low use and stored inside.
