I'm replacing the 82 x 1/2" drive belt and became almost disfigured when I learned that it appears I'll need to disassemble the entire right side of the tractor to make this replacement.  Is this true?

It's a 1969 MF-12.  Thank you.

Pretty much, makes everything easier to get to.  Remove the Tunnel cover at the seat, the foot rest on the right side, and the belt guard at the engine.  Then you will probably have one or two guides for the belt that will need to be loosened and moved, as well as the guard around the hydro drive pulley.   Good time to examine or replace the idler pulleys and check operation of the pulley tension mechanism.

Shouldn't take more than an hour start to finish.

Glad you got it done.  It wasn't supposed to be a race, just a general time frame to let you know it wouldn't really take as long as you feared  .

Glad to hear it is up and running again, these are sweet tractors.
