I was giving Luigi a some grease today and noticed that the center pivot has not been greased for a long time, the rest of the machine had been greased when I got it last spring. I have tried two different size tips on the grease gun and neither will fit down into the hole that the zert is in. Is there some special tip that I need? How do you GK owners grease this one?

I owned a GK that I sold to PhilGK, a member here.  He might be able to help you out with this.

Cat385B, that needle tip looks like it might do the trick. I'll pick one up and give it a try. Thanks.

jpswift1, I'm hoping someone like PhilGK shows up on this, seems to me it would not have bee designed this way.

Just for an end to the story... a new zerk fixed the problem. Feel kinda foolish, but I never had the outside of zerk wear out before.

Sorry i didnt chime in. I just saw this post.
I’m glad you figured it out. I have tried greasing the center pivot and i think ive gotten some grease in there but i have not had a chance to clean that area up yet. It is hard to get the grease gun in position to lube that area.
Not sure how yours is but my center pivot feels very loose. When i pick the snow blower off the ground or apply down pressure to the blade the center flexs (is that a word?) quite a bit. I plan on rebuilding it and installing new pivot bushings. We’ll see if i get to it.

On another note...I’d like to see pictures of that GK of yours.

Philgk, there was a lot of dirt and junk around the zerk and horizontal pivot was dry but it is still pretty tight. Once it had a new zerk it took grease really well.

I am sure flexs is a word I have no doubt what it means!

I would certainly post pics of Luigi if I could figure out how...I think my computer hates me.
