Is there suppose to be a zerk fitting on the driveshaft cover running under the middle hump?  I saw one for sale on ebay and it had a zerk fitting.  Do you grease it?  I don't seem to have one when looking under my tractor.  I can't see the top.

The earlier economy tractors with the Ford Model A type rear have the grease fitting. These older tractors with this rear have an extremely long pinion shaft and only one splinted coupling that connects this shaft to the transmission. There is a needle roller bearing in the old driveshaft tubes to support the front of these long pinion/drive shafts. You can see the machined area behind the splines on the long pinion/ drive shaft.
