The main issue with the FF wheels are that they are wide! Close to 6". So it's hard to find a tire to fit that width! I got an old Murray (2001?) and was surprised it has 1" spindles on the front. And the wheels are a lot narrower. Hmmmmm?

Well, scratch that. I just measured them and they are 7/8". Why that odd size? Sorry!

how easy o the bearings/bushings come out of those Murray rims> Could you go to a bearing supply place and come up sith some that are 1" ID x whatever the OD of your current bushings (ID of the hub) are?

I haven't taken a wheel off as yet, so don't know. But that is a possibility. It'll be later this Spring before I finish parting that Murray!

I put a set of ribbed tires on the front of my smaller craftsman. Haven't had a good chance to try them in snow yet. Not too bad on price, around $50 delivered for a pair of 15-6x6.00 from walmart.com. Image is from summit.com.
