Hello all. I have found a 72-76 LGT100 near me that has piqued my interest but Im not sure if the price is fair. It has no attachments but it has new tires, battery, points, spark plug and wire, coil and fuel shutoff. Says it runs good but Ill have to verify that. Asking price is 300 but I figured Id offer 250 and see what he says. Do you think that's a fair price or should I offer less since there is no deck?

Welcome to GTT. I have 3 1/2 of those series tractors but none are running right now. I really like them. They were made by Jacobsen for Ford. You can download the manuals for it from our Manuals Section(3 for free per day).

I bought an LGT 125 for $65 with plow, 42" deck and the engine blown. Its costing me about $200 to rebuild the engine myself. $250 seems like a fair price if it actually runs good and there are no knocks. Watch out for bad mufflers they tend to hide engine knocks. You problem will be finding attachments that fit. That all depends on your area. In my area there was a big Ford dealer who sold lots of these machines. I have found few attachments at reasonable prices. Read through the manuals and see what it has. If it has a sleeve hitch on it, that would be worth a $100 to replace. It also allows you to use many "universal" sleeve hitch attachments. Good Luck, Rick

I love these machines I have at least 1 of each . The grilles can get expensive 225.00 aftermarket 200.00 or better for a good unbusted original . Like boyscout862 said attachments can be hard to find and not very cheap either . I would think 200.00 to 250.00 would be fair if it ran good .I have a extra deck I think if u need one .Lets us know what happens.

I started with an LGT100, it got me hooked on them......It came with a deck, blade and tiller, so that helped a lot with my decision to buy it. I got it super cheap, that also helped.....the guy just wanted to get rid of it as he bought a new tractor.

$300 looks reasonable for that tractor according to the pics.....you may want to keeping looking around for another with attachments with a blown motor or something. I bought this lot not running for $200....mainly for the attachments.

I'm going to take a look at it on sun and if it's in good shape and runs good Ill go ahead and offer 250. Not having a decks not too big of a deal. I've got another mower I can use for that.

Went and looked at it. We agreed on 265 and I'll pick it up next weekend. Once I get it home I can throw it in the garage and get it cleaned up and do some painting.
Case1man, I might have to hit you up about your extra Deck.

Theres a fiberglass piece under the grill thats cracked and there's a few spots where the paint has some cracks but overall it's pretty good.

The cracked grill is a common problem with them.....People are making replacements, but they are pricey.
