An update to this engine I dropped the block off at the machine shop with the Crank 2 probably be honed 10 / because there was some definite where on the cylinder wall. The head when they bead blasted the head there's a crack in the exhaust side of the head which he said can be welded. He pointed out that the intake seat was way over sized because of damage were the previous seat had fallen out and got banged around inside the cylinder head. Which brings up a good question do all aluminum overhead valve heads get this destroyed or was this just prone to this k361 motor

Hi Bazil, all heads whether OVH or flat head air cooled or liquid  cooled get beat up when a seat comes out and the engine is running and one of the main reasons a seat will come out is overheating of the head. Due to the fact that there are so many engine engines with alum heads now and things happen that many engine machine shops now make repairs that was just about impossible 25 / 30 yrs ago.  So to answer no its not just the K361 the Tecumseh OHV engines had the same problems when overheated there are also lots of B&S flat heat engines that the valve seat pop out and another thing engine mfg have come up with better metallurgy and techniques since these engine were designed.
