The Ford/Gilson made lgt18h I’m restoring is giving me a ton of grief with the wiring. I have the schematic from the manual and have been tracing wires the last two weeks and am confused as when I started. The previous owner didn’t know what he was doing and tried to get it running by cutting into the harness in numerous places and I can’t make heads or tails of anything at this point and I’m thinking about just tearing everything out, getting a new solenoid, switches and key switch and completely running all new wires. I was wondering if anyone has a basic schematic for this tractor (a lot going on with the factory wiring with safety switches, oil pressure sensors, etc. would rather just bypass all of it) that will get the engine to crank and fire, the pto to work, the headlights, anmeter, and hour meter to work and that’s it. This machine has the Kohler Magnum 18 opposed twin engine if that helps. Thanks

If you have the schematic

I would tear out and start over

test all of the current switches

replace only those that are bad

most of the safety switches just

complete the ground they are

easy to bypass
